Lutz, Fl Homes for Sale
Lutz began with the construction of a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad which carried materials from Tampa to Brooksville. It was named "Lutz Station" by William Paul Lutz, an engineer on the Tampa Northern Railroad. As people moved to the rural community from Tampa, the Lutz area continued to grow until it no longer depended on its train depot, which was demolished in the late 1960s. In 2000, a replica of the depot was rebuilt near the original site.
Although close enough to enjoy all of the conveniences of Tampa, Lutz has never lost its small town charm. Many residents have succeeded in making a living from family owned small businesses in the area, allowing for the community to remain tight-knit throughout its evolution. Lutz’s real estate location makes it convenient for work, shopping, recreation, and the enjoyment of the area’s attractions. The current low zoning density in the Lutz area allows for fewer homes per acre increasing values and limiting the possibility of over development.
